TEC support for Pilot scale processing of betel leaf tea

The Technology Enabling Centre had facilitated the development of technology for production of beverage from betel leaf. A technology transfer agreement was further signed between Nitte (DU) and M/S Eshanya Beverages for commercialization of this patented technology. The DST TEC supported M/S Eshanya beverages start-up by handholding the company. This technology was successful in receiving on competitive basis seed funding from MS Ramaiah Incubator. Dr Mamatha B S from NUCSER, who helped in developing the technology and shares the patent with Mr Sandeep Eshanya, was deputed along with the research scholar Mr Nishith Kumar for rendering technical help in pilot scale processing. This was done at CFTRI, Mysore during 4-7 May 2022. The product will now be made available for pilot marketing as a start-up requirement.
